                                                                                                                                     3 December, 2153

Dear readers,
If u are reading this ,it means that u just got lucky to read my blog from this site because the contents in it are against the system that rule us, before u report this to the police please just give me some of your time so that I can prove to u that I am not wrong. In a world where we are ranked based on money and intelligence from which again beauty, strength or other ability take root, I have come to realize that life is neither easy nor hard. Sorry for my rudeness of not introducing myself, let me put my ID card here to show that I am not fake.
v  Name: Mark Andre
v  Age: 18
v  Nationality: India
v  Sector: 239
v  Rank: 82132892
v  Valid: 31/12/2160
As shown, my name is Mark Andre and it has only been a year back since I got screened for rankings. Ever since I have been ranked my life is experiencing the extreme version of hell every single day. I have just posted this blog all over the internet because I wanted to share an event to the people living in the world to decide whether the system present is right or not. I am not expecting support for our reason but I would like people to hear my story. The story is about my best friend Kyle philps and my adventure with him during which we uncover lot of truth about the system that is running our world.

Chapter 1
                                                                     Our World

Hey Kyle!! Don’t keep looking at her like that with erotic thoughts, if u love her so much, why don’t u go and date her?
Kyle Philps is my childhood best friend and we live in the same sector from the time we were born, both our parents are IT professionals. Kyle is a shy boy, he doesn’t talk much and he starts stammering when a girl interacts with him. But the most peculiar thing about him is that he is a class topper, he can remember anything he learns in day to day life, good in sports and many other qualities that one can dream to have. But no one acknowledges him because he was genetically modified before birth. In my scenario, I was an average boy in my class, the only good quality that I had is that I could use any computer program that existed in the world including that I could crack and hack anything.
Kyle turned slowly towards me and said, “Please help me”.
Dude this is your life, I have helped u as much as I can by spying on her and asking details about her for past 5 years ,the only thing remaining is that u should confess your feelings to Susan.
“What if, she rejects me?” Kyle asked
Then, check out other girls. I have already said u that her father is strict, and her parents got married to each other by arrange marriage. Their rankings and sector’s they live in are also very high.
Kyle stared at me and said, “Then my only hope is to be ranked high in the screening process, isn’t it? If so I will try my best”.
U are ……
“Kyle and Mark please bring me your *touch book, if u have the time to talk u must have finished your work, I believe”, said Mr.Grinder (biology teacher).
Ahhhh.. I am screwed. Kyle, did u finish it. Sir, we were just discussing about the replacement of organs with artificial ones.
Kyle continued, “Sir is it really necessary for every human to replace their organs to lead a happy and long life”.
He became serious for a while thinking to himself and then he suddenly started laughing. The whole class was confused on seeing his reactions towards Kyle’s question. I looked at Kyle and he was standing there with a serious expression too. As I said, Kyle was always a peculiar person who would ask questions or do something that surprises many.
“Hmmm.. Kyle, if u want to have a high rank or live in luxury sector in this country, u have to take every path the system has laid down for us. For example your parents have taken the first step for u.”, said Mr.Grinder
I was totally shocked on hearing him say that, I immediately turned towards Kyle but there he stood smiling and nodding to Mr.Grinder’s reply. The whole class started talking and that period went on like this until it ended. I couldn’t think of anything but the words of Mr.Grinder, I looked at Kyle but that idiot as usual was seeing Susan with a smirk on his face.
Kyle!!!  U are the biggest idiot one can ever find in this world. Dude, I am sitting here thinking about how rude Mr.Grinder acted and u look at a girl with whom u would never get together with. One more advice, please remove the dirty smirk from your face when you’re looking at her.
“Nahhhh……. i got used to those comments. From my childhood I was always differentiated as modified not only by my friends and teachers but also by my parents who always expected me to do extraordinary things. In childhood days I would have cried but now I am an adult, I have decided that this is who I am; I can’t deny this throughout my life, I have to face the future with this fate”, replied Kyle with a smile and a tear in his eyes.
I have been your friend from the start of your life, you’re so predictable. You don’t have to say how u feel, good or bad because i already know everything about you, stubborn freak.

Kghhhhhhh….3..2..1..
Can I have your attention please?
My name is Raj Kumar from 10A class. Today’s Global news and school announcement will be given by me.

Kyle just nodded his head and gave a sigh.

End of chapter one.

Ramu the Hawker

Mummy are the bajji’s ready there will be many people in the beach now, “I said.

And my mummy shouted back by saying,” be-ta don’t worry the bajji’s are ready but before u reach the beach visit the hanuman temple and pray for good luck.

I looked at the wall where my Grandfather and granny’s picture hung with garlands and I said please guide me through these difficult times. I took the basket of bajji’s placed them on my head and ran towards the hanuman temple, prayed and gave some money for the prasad. I reached the beach as I usually do when its overcrowded with people.

Before I tell u the incident that changed my life that day let me introduce myself, my name is Ramu and I am 14 years old from a very poor family background originally from Gujarat living in Mumbai. I left my school when my dad was arrested because he got himself drunk and started beating people around him. I live with my mom who works as a worker in a rich merchant’s house and I help her everyday by selling the bajji’s .We get enough food with the help of the ration card though it’s twice a day ,we are contended with the things we have. Now let’s get back to the incident that happened that day.

As usual I was shouting that day,”Bajji’s, bajji’s, bajji’s  panch bajji’s dus rupee “.

Bajji’s, bajji’s, bajji’s  panch bajji’s dus rupee ,I repeated again and again some people bought it others ignored as usual. Like this I walked the whole Jihu beach six to seven times for four hours until the bajji’s in my basket almost got over. My legs ached so I sat down on the sand ,counted my money I had collected which was Rs.230 and I starting blabbering about my life, condemning it and as usual I started comparing myself with other children’s I saw in the beach. As I was looking around at the people in the beach, I suddenly noticed a boy about 6 years old crying aloud and the people around him started gathering and started asking him where his parents were? or why he was crying?. I got curious because he seemed familiar but I couldn’t remember where I had seen him, so I started moving towards him but before I could reach there he got up and ran away getting away from the crowed. I don’t know why but I started running behind the boy with the basket on my head. At the end he stopped near a shop and again started crying, this time I could see him clearly then I suddenly noticed that the boy was the son of the rich merchant in whose house my mother was working, I couldn’t tell it for sure because I have seen him only in a photo with my mother which she once brought home. I sat beside him and I told the people gathering around him that I knew him, they left after that. Now, I slowly asked the boy, “where’s your daddy?”, he didn’t reply so I turned around thinking for myself what I should do then I saw my basket I found there were still four bajji’s, I took them and offered them to the boy which he reluctantly took it and ate it. After thinking for a while I decided to take the boy to my house so I could confirm that he was the son of the merchant since my mother knew him very well before I could take him to the police.

I was holding the boy’s hand while we were walking towards my home (the boy wouldn’t even tell his name and after a lot of persuasion I made him agree to come home at least). We reached home but to my surprise the house was locked, my mother always came before me so I didn’t care about carrying a key. I sat with the boy on a rock asking him questions for which I never got answers; I felt an irritation filling my head so I was about to shout at him when I suddenly heard my mother’s voice. I turned back and saw my mother then suddenly I saw the boy running towards her and hugged her. My mother took him inside the house without saying anything then looked at me and said, ”son in this world nothing is fair even if we have money”. I didn’t understand it because I didn’t know the basis of her saying so I looked at mother who was cuddling the boy and asked her, “What happened to merchant she was working with?”.

My mother put the boy to bed and made some phone calls with the pay phone near the house after which she came inside the house, sat near me and said,” do you remember the politician who came to our house and gave us Rs.500, now he is a MLA and he is planning to open the biggest mall in Mumbai in the place where the merchant’s mall is situated, the merchant didn’t agree obviously since the mall was his family treasure. But the politician took the matters by sending gunda’s and by other means to disturb the merchants life but the merchant didn’t give in. Then one day the merchants only child, Sherlyn was kidnapped by the politician’s men.”

I was shocked by hearing the story then I asked my mother whether the boy sleeping in the bed was Sherlyn.

My mother slowly nodded telling me that he was Sherlyn.

Then my mother said to me ,”be-ta don’t sleep, his parents will be coming now”.

His parents came home about 12 AM took him and went away. I sat whole night thinking about the incident and in the morning I went to the beach selling the bajji’s, I couldn’t stop thinking about the incident that caused the kidnapping so I decided to visit the place where the merchant’s mall was situated in the day.

When I reached the mall, it was crowded with people. I looked everywhere with amazement and suddenly I felt a hand touching my shoulder, I turned around and to my surprise it was the merchant. He smiled at me, then he took my hand and he led me towards a restaurant where we sat and he told me to eat anything I like. Then I narrated my part of the story to him and at the end he said ,”the position my family are in now is just because of the people who gave us difficult time during which we suffered, people are scared when competitors exist but one thing everyone should realise that only during difficult times we that is humans strive to become the better person ,so partially my achievements go towards them also”. After saying that he smiled at me and said ,”will u look after my son when u are in the school”.

A WEEK IN NAGALAND

(A travel log written by Alimeren)

“The world is a book and those who do not travel, read only one page.”

                                                                                                                        -St. Augustine

My journey to Nagaland started from Chennai, and the only reason I joined my parents was that we were visiting Kohima (Capital). This may be funny from my side because this was the first time I was visiting the capital of my home town. Obviously I was excited, I knew the place was beautiful, and my mom kept talking about it non-stop which made me more excited. My evil intention of checking out beautiful girls there was my top priority obviously(:P)(I was desperate on checking out my own people/race since I was brought up in Tamil Nadu). Now, let me start sharing my story.

I was really relieved when I reached Dimapur airport because the flight was so bumpy I felt sick and my brother kept refusing to give the mp3 player. My cousins picked us up and as usual the army was on patrol in every nook and corner of the city. I was so disappointed on seeing the city because it was the same old Dimapur as it was six years back. As usual we had lot of relatives visiting us in which most of them I never knew, I and my brother kept talking at least with the people we knew. We had no intention of not talking with others but I and my brother were very poor with our regional language.

Next day we started our journey to Kohima in a maruti 800(:P) and the starting part of the journey was not good for me because my dad kept talking about his life in Kohima (my dad was also excited because he was visiting after ten years) and the car was so small that I couldn’t sit properly, the only thing that nullified my displeasure was the air and the beauty that was enveloping us. My dad stopped at places which amazed him on the way and there was this place which striked me ,it was a tent which was made of bamboo(artistic) .

Finally we reached Kohima, a journey which lasted for two hours and the climate there was awesome. The town was buzzing with activities and the most shocking part of the place was that the people were wearing smaller dresses than Chennai (39*degree vs. 18* degree (: O)), in my case I was wearing three shirts(O_O). The town welcomed us with a huge traffic, anyone could see that the traffic system there was not very versatile but the climate kept my head cool (at least it was not like Chennai :P).  We were picked by our cousins (my god I didn’t know them also L) and they guided us to the guest house (circuit house) which had a traditional look.

Immediately after we got our rooms we obviously had to visit our relatives (top priority), I was atleast happy on one side that I get see my relatives. Then there was this point where my brother disappears for writing his jee examination for days from which my parents took me all around the Capital Kohima. My favourite spot was this place where a second world war tank was parked(:O).I don’t know why but I felt happy because the fence around the tank was broken in which case I had the chance to take snap shots in it.

Then we went to the kohima museum where the cultures of various tribes of Nagaland were exhibited (aprox 16 official tribe) and the works of various arts which originated from Nagaland was also present. We were not allowed to take photos but I took one snap anyway :P.

The next day i was brutally attacked by headaches and my body temperature erupted :(. I went along with my parents to drop my brother to the exam hall for jee. I slept at my aunt's house and the time i opened my eyes, everything was over :(, i was back in Dimapur with my cousins.

English Langage Today(India)

English, the UNIVERSAL language of the world which is the most widely spoken language has many reasons due to which it is the universal language. One of the reasons is that the language English has easily accepted to add other languages in their DICTIONARY and the second is that THE GREAT BRITAIN colonized most part of the world in which English was taught to people along with Christianity which also played a important role in spreading the language.
English today has a vast history which doesn’t have a specific owner of the English language .The English is a West Germanic language that originated from the Anglo-Frisian dialects brought to Britain by Germanic settlers and roman auxiliary troops from various parts of what is now Germany and the Northern Netherlands. Initially, Old English was a diverse groups of dialects, reflecting the varied origins of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of England. The middle English period was seen as age where French, Latin ,Germanic and many more language was added into the people’s vocabulary. Middle or Norman age influence reinforced the continued changes in the language over the following centuries, producing what is now referred to as Middle English. Among the changes was an increase in the use of a unique ASPECT OF English grammar. Modern English is often dated from the Great Vowel Shift, which took place mainly during the 15th century.
In modern world “International English” is a concept of the English language as a global means of communication in numerous dialects, and also the movement towards an international standard for the language. It is also referred to as Global English, World English, Common English, and General English. There are many types of English spoken in the world in basis of dialects. Going to the topic of “English language used in radio and media”.
English used today in radio and media has caused many positive and negative ripples in modern society all over the world.
We know the media matters to politicians and celebrities. But they also matter to everyone else, to managers, advertisers, teachers, parents, doctors, and patients – anyone who might depend on them for information, or find themselves affected by their images. The clearest way to begin understanding media is to analyze media texts in detail: news broadcasts, situation comedies, magazine advertisements, talk shows, press photos, e-mails, or text messages on a mobile phone. The idea behind the English Language in the Media degree is that language is used for communication in the public sphere. So we need to look beyond the words themselves to what people do with language, how they use technologies, and how language interacts with other modes of communication. Now, about English used in India in some Medias:
1. T.V and radio.
A very liberal use of English is made in the Electronic Media in India. The All India Radio and Doordarshan in New Delhi and its stations in different parts of the country use English and Hindi along with the regional languages. All the national news bulletins are both in Hindi and English. The commentaries, features, talks, discussions, interviews etc. focusing on national and international matters are usually in English as they are aimed at on All India Audience. Use of radios in modern world has been decreased ,but it still survives with very few English radio stations in India. The world’s most biggest English radio station will be the BBC broadcasting station. In T.V generally Hindi cinemas are produced in India. However, there are a few English cinemas produced in India such as English August, Mr. & Mrs. Iyer. Nowadays the quality of English used in cinemas and radios have decreased so much compared to the 19th century. But in positive way English used nowadays have been more open to the societies.
2. Newspaper
English Newspapers are published from all the states and union territories of India except Arunachal and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. According to Government of India Source 3, 827 newspapers  including dailies, weeklies etc are published in the country. This number is next only to Hindi newspapers and higher than those published in any other Indian languages.
3. Journals and Magazines
The number of books published in English is not only higher than Hindi, but also almost equal to all other major Indian languages put together.
English is the most dominant language of Professional Journals. Reports of the Registrar of News Papers of India show that most of the periodicals devoted to science, technology, social science, business and industry are published in English.

Current ideas about literary criticism derive almost entirely from the new direction taken in the early twentieth century. Early in the century the school of criticism in Britain and America, came to dominate the study and discussion of literature. Both schools emphasized the close reading of texts, elevating it far above generalizing discussion and speculation about either authorial intention or reader response.
Likewise the criticism used in modern world differs from field to field. Media and Radio criticism has changed a lot from the 20th century. In most countries media and radio have the right to criticize their government or any other organisation, this has improved the conditions and people working in government and organisations rectify their mistake, some are even punished. For example recent 2G scam, media has played a large part in catching the culprits or even in the sytham scam .Sometimes media exaggerate certain news too much that people involved get pressurized and they tend to suicide.
People tend to talk about 'The Media', lumping them all together into an all-powerful monster. Or they think just of television, and maybe new media such as the World Wide Web. But it is helpful to de-glamorize the media, and consider all the ways we extend our abilities to communicate, telephones, e-mail, magazines, leaflets, radio, posters, maps, and even such everyday media as notes left on the refrigerator. Once you consider the full range of media, you are likely to realize that there is a lot to learn about how these various channels work, and about the institutions and ways of working that have grown up around them.
